David Boston felt so good about his visit to San Diego that he told his agent, Mitch Frankel, to cancel all future trips and finalize a deal that would make him a Charger.

Even though he bought an overcoat at Nordstrom's on Monday for a trip to Baltimore, Boston cancelled the trip and is working on a deal that will make him more than $6 million a year for the next four years.

Boston, whom the Cardinals elected not to franchise, had more than $7 million a year on the table from the Cardinals, who didn't want to guarantee much money with signing bonuses. Boston is considered perhaps the best player available in free agency.

Boston recently weighed 243 pounds and is able to run in the 4.3s. He suffered knee and foot problems last season. He's squatting 400 pounds three months after having a patella tendon surgery.

aber stellt euch mal vor man ist cardinals-fan oder -spieler. dann ist man ja eh schon gestraft. aber dann verlassen innerhalb von wenigen studen auch noch plummer & boston das schiff.

naja, ich gönne es arizona. ich war einmal zum superbowl dort und seitdem hasse ich diese stadt wie die pest!!!

DetroitLions.com reports Detroit Lions president and CEO Matt Millen is optimistic that WR Az Hakim (hip) will be fully healed from a dislocated hip that sidelined him for Detroit's final six games. "Based on all of the medical information, we are expecting him to be a full-go," Millen said. "The fact that he is running right now is a great sign. There have been no problems." Hakim is already running. The team remains cautious in their approach to the situation. The caution, however, is that problems may surface much later in the recovery process. "From what I have been told, things can surface up to a year and a half later with that type of injury," Millen said.
