Ein paar Junx, die ich aus anderen Ligen kenne, haben kurzfristig eine »Pirate & Contract League« auf der Plattform LeagueTycoon aufgesetzt.
Ungewöhnliches Format + unbekannte Plattform - kurz vor Saisonbeginn = Hurry up! Wenn es zeitlich nicht hinhaut, muß der Start der Liga nach hinten verschoben werden...
Die Liga bzw. das Spiel soll vor allem Spaß machen. Setup und Plattform sind vor allem »easy to use« und passen an der Stelle gut zusammen.
Die Gestaltung ermöglicht es, komplexere/fortgeschrittenere Spielelemente (auction draft, salary cap, contracts) in einem einfachen Setting kennenzulernen. Das Spiel ist aus meiner Sicht auch für Rookies verständlich und als Einstieg geeignet. Das gilt auch im Hinblick darauf, daß Format und Scoring Rules eher »street smart« als »book smart« (Fachwissen) begünstigen.

The buy-in is intended to reduce the interest of those who like to participate in auctions, but don't really intend to actively participate in the game over an entire season!
League Summary
• H2H + extra matchup vs. the median
Roster: 8 Starter (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 RWT) + 7 Bench + 1 IR → Total: 16
Draft: Standard Auction Draft - 16 nominations/team - nomination: 60s initial bidding: 30s - bid reset: 15 - salary cap/ auction budget: $300 - reserve budget: $100
Scoring:
• TD ▸ 6 - 2PC ▸ 2 - Fumble ▸ -3 - Interception ▸ -3
• Yardage: Passing ▸ 0.05/Y - Rush/Rec/Ret ▸ 0.1/Y
Playoffs: 6 Teams - W15, 16, 17
Trades: W1-14 no restrictions - W15-17 no trades
Contracts: right now each team has only one contract → contract settings tbd after the auction
Pirate Swaps:
After the auction, every team can sign a contract with one player, that will be protected from pirate swaps along the way. make your choice carefully. Once you have signed a player, your choice gets locked. No change can be made for the rest of the season.

• If you win you will be able to steal one player from their roster.
• It doesnt have to be a starter you steal, but you must send back a started player of the same position.
→ So if stealing a RB, you would need to send back a starting RB from your squad. Doesn’t matter if that RB is in a flex slot or not, it is just position for position.
• Only the players with a contract and and players on bye are protected and can’t be stolen by pirate swaps.
Be aware that the term pirate, indicates that the character of the league is not always about being nice to each other.
The concept encourages the use of sneaky strategies and to steal players from the opponent. It’s obviously that this favours disharmony rather than love stories.
The result of swap is likely to be twofold: What causes anger and the feeling of having been cheated on the one hand, brings joy on the other.
The league is supposed to be fun. If you don’t need pony farm to have fun, you’re welcome to give it a try and join the league.
If that for you does not always requires a pony farm, you are welcome to join the league and give it a try.
