NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wants to expand the regular season from 16 to as many as 18 games, possibly in time for the 2011 season.
If this brilliant idea comes to fruition, it would eliminate two preseason games and possibly move the start of the regular season into August.
It would also mean at least one more week of fantasy football action.
In most traditional formats where six teams reach the postseason, the fantasy regular season would last 14 weeks with the postseason starting in Week 15 and running until Week 17, which would become the new fantasy championship week.
