Welcher Käpt'n hat seine Crew am besten gerüstet ? Wer kann Sturm und Wellen am besten trotzen ?
Ein kleiner Ausblick auf die kommenden Wochen....

Fangen wir mit dem Titelverteidiger an - die Paranoid Parrots sind die Gejagten in diesem Jahr.
Als sich der Earl noch mitten in den Feierlichkeiten befand, gab es schon den ersten Rückschlag. In hinterhältigen Attacken wurden QB Jones, RB Chubb und WR Lockett von Board gelockt. Unter größten Anstrengungen konnten Jones und Chubb zurück geholt werden, der gute Lockett jedoch blieb bis zum heutigen Tage verschollen und wart nicht mehr gesehen.

Als mit der nächsten Welle dann auch Tranquill, Kendricks und Montgomery von Board gespült wurden, lichteten sich die Reihen merklich, und die Papageien mussten Land ansteuern, um frisches Blut unter Vertrag zu nehmen. Mit Anderson und Mingo konnten 2 vielversprechende Talente verpflichtet werden, aus 2. Hand gesellten sich später noch Long, Hubbard und Horn hinzu.
Auf dem Sklavenmarkt konnte Käpt'n Piggot unter mysteriösen Umständen den zuvor vermissten Montgomery käuflich erwerben und nebenbei seine Verteidigung etwas aufpolieren (Spillane, Thompson, Jenkins). Insgesamt ging man aber recht sparsam mit den Dukaten um.... 

Das Team benötigt sicherlich noch etwas Zuwachs, um ganz vorne mitsegeln zu können - 145 $ in der Schatzkammer lassen hier aber genügend Spielraum.
Die Parrots hinken auf QB (Jones, Wilson) und TE (Okon, Okwue & Smith - wenigestens einen kann man aussprechen) etwas hinterher, dafür können sich die RBs (Chubb, Dobbins, Mattison, Monti) und WR (Lamb, Brown, Godwin, Dotson) sehen lassen. Die Defense ist insgesamt stark aufgestellt, sehr gute LB und eine gute DL, S und CB solide (mehr aber auch nicht), hier könnte man gegenüber der Konkurrenz einen Vorteil haben.

Viel Erfolg bei der Titelverteidigung, Paranoid Parrots !

Größter Widersacher, und vermutlich sogar wieder Top-Favorit, dürften die ST. Erpel Ghost Raiders sein. Das Team hat mit Coach Erpel - der sich einen verfrühten Einzug in den Fantasy-Himmel gegönnt hatte - einen schmerzlichen Verlust erlitten, der von der gesamten Liga noch verdaut werden muss. Die Ghost Raiders können sich aber glücklich schätzen, mit Thorsten so schnell ein Ersatz-Hinkebein gefunden zu haben. Der neue Coach steht sicherlich vor keiner leichten Aufgabe, hat aber das Team und die Stars, seinem Vorgänger alle Ehre zu erweisen. 

Man hat kaum nennenswerte Verluste erlitten, konnte am Frischlingsmarkt aber auch nicht großartig zugreifen. Immerhin wurde kurzfristig RB Brown aufgegabelt, zu später Stunde wurden dann auch noch Beckham und Leonard Williams überzeugt. Über die Auktion holte man mit Carr den verlorenen Sohn zurück und verstärkte sich mit WR Thielen, ansonsten blieben Nennenswerte Verpflichtungen aus.

Das Team hat weiterhin eine Super Achse in der Offense - Burrow - McCaffrey - Jefferson / Adams / Evans / McLaurin / Pickens - Kittle / Andrews und auch die Defense verfügt über Starpower : Maxx Crosby und Fred Warner geben den Ton, danach wird es dann aber schon etwas dünn....

Mit 135 $ ist die Schatulle ordentlich gefüllt, man kan also nachbessern, falls notwendig.

Als 3. Favorit gehen Störtebeker`s Soulless Devils ins Rennen.
Über den Draft hat man sich gut verstärkt (JSN, Achane, Hyatt, Nolan Smith und später B. Cooks), die Verluste hielten sich in Grenzen.
In der Auction hat Störtebeker ebenfalls die Taschen geöffnet und Sanders, Heyward und Wagner verpflichtet.
Mit Jackson hat man einen guten Franchise QB, auf RB hinkt man etwas hinterher, hat aber eine gute Breite (Kamara, Elliot, Sanders, Allgeier, Dillon...einer muss halt einschlagen...). Bei den WR ist man noch immer gaaaanz vorne dabei (Hill, Diggs, Cooks, Samuel, M.Thomas), bei den TE sieht es eher nach einem Projekt aus....
In der Defense stechen die LB hervor (Wagner, Mosley, Hicks, Holcomb, Jewell), die S haben klangvolle Namen, DL und CB sind solilde.

We'll start by complimenting you on your strength at quarterback, receiver, and tight end. As you know, it's very difficult in a competitive league to assemble a team that is strong at QB, RB, and WR, so just about every team will have a weakness. As you probably suspect, we perceive yours to be at running back.

In 2023, that's not an instant fantasy team killer like it might have been five years ago. Your league setup also doesn't mandate running back strength to the extent that many do. So in this particular case, we absolutely think you're strong enough elsewhere to overcome it. You've definitely got a good team here, but we'd feel better if we knew you were committed to keeping an eye out for the 2023version of last season's Austin Ekeler, or 2018's Philip Lindsey.

Brandin Cooks should serve as a very solid 4th Wide Receiver; he's a likely flex starter. Michael Thomas will also be among the best WR5s in the league --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. We love Jaxon Smith-Njigba as a 6th Wide Receiver. Curtis Samuel is also a very nice WR7. We love Rashid Shaheed as a 8th Wide Receiver. Likewise, Jalin Hyatt should be excellent at WR9. Isaiah McKenzie should serve as a very solid 10th Wide Receiver. We also see Devin Duvernay as an above average WR11.

We have Hunter Henry ranked #17 at the position, so we don't even necessarily see him as being TE 1 worthy in this league. But we do like your depth at Tight End, so you will likely be OK here.

Juwan Johnson should be a good 2nd Tight End. Mike Gesicki should also be solidly above average at TE3. We love Adam Trautman as a 4th Tight End.

Players we particularly like on this team (and there's a lot to like here) include Miles Sanders, Hunter Henry, Brandin Cooks, AJ Dillon, and Cole Holcomb. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they're typically being drafted.

Als nächstes nehmen wir John Rhoades Flying Horse unter's Glasauge.

Mit Okereke hatte man zunächst einen schwerwiegenden Verlust zu verzeichnen, der LB wurde später aber wieder zum Planken schrubben angeheuert.
Ansonsten ist Käpt'n Marc mit der vertrauten Taktik unterwegs - es wird Frischgemüse in die Kombüse gesperrt, bis das Ding aus allen Nähten platzt. Besonders die Jungspunde, die die Hängematte außen an der Schiffswand aufziehen müssen, können einem leid tun. Gleich 18 Talente wurden beim Fliegenden Gaul zur Unterschrift genötigt. Unglaubliche Zahl. Wenn man das Ganze genauer anschaut, stellt man fest, dass Marc nun gleich 4 der "großen 10" an Board hat (Gibbs, Richardson, Kincaid, Flowers) und jede Offensivposi einmal mit einem Top-Mann verstärken konnte. Die Qualität geht auch danach nicht aus, die Defense kam ebenfalls nicht zu kurz....

Ob das alles zum Erfolg führen wird, muss die Zukunft zeigen. Immerhin hat John Rhoades am Ende noch ein paar (wenige) erfahrene Spieler angeworben. Diese gesellen sich zu der Achse Lawrence - Mixon / Barkley - St. Brown / Jeudy und führen somit die Truppe mit der meisten Upside - den Titel hat man schon sicher - in die Tiefen der Meere...

We like your overall strength at the traditionally less important positions, but make no mistake about it: this team is about strength at the running back position. And we think it will be a legitimate contender. Somewhere Terrell Davis is smiling.

Nonetheless, we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention the relative lack of strength at quarterback and receiver. These are usually survivable weaknesses, but we'd feel better if we knew you were committed to zealously scouring the waiver wire for this year's emergent players at QB and WR. Getting a breakout player at one or both of those positions would take your already-good team to the next level.

Players we particularly like on this team (and there's a lot to like here) include Amon-Ra St. Brown, Christian Watson, Jake Moody, Joe Mixon, and Jahmyr Gibbs. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they're typically being drafted.

Saquon Barkley is a solid choice as a top Running Back. He's our #5 RB, so you're ahead of most teams there.

Joe Mixon looks great as a 2nd Running Back; he's a likely flex starter. Jahmyr Gibbs is also a very nice RB3 --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. Zach Charbonnet should serve as a very solid 4th Running Back.

Your starting Linebacker group is a strength, particularly Nick Bolton as a 1st Linebacker. We figure them at a combined 3.72 points per game better than an average opponent in this league. Bolton is our 3rd ranked LB, and we have Bobby Okereke at #10.

Pete Werner looks great as a 3rd Linebacker; he's a likely flex starter. Likewise, Kaden Elliss should be excellent at LB4 --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. Jamin Davis looks great as a 5th Linebacker (another likely flex starter). Ja'Whaun Bentley is also a very nice LB6. We love Willie Gay as a 7th Linebacker. Alex Anzalone is also a very nice LB8. Tough to do better than Trenton Simpson at LB9. Likewise, Dorian Williams should be excellent at LB10.


Richten wir den Blick nun auf die Pirates of Cilicia. Dem Team sind auf stürmischer See mit Smith-Schuster-Smith und LB Long 2 brauchbare Matrosen abhanden gekommen. Dafür hat man bei Bonny Anne den armen Ernest Jones aus dem Beiboot gekidnappt und so zumindest einen der Beiden wieder ersetzt.
Der Draft der Cilicianer war gezwungener maßen recht WR-lastig, man konnte mit Addison, Rice und Downs gleich 3 hochgehandelte Passfänger einsammeln. Besonders zufrieden dürfte Julius aber mit dem Einkauf im 2nd-Hand-Shop sein - LB Deablo, TE Ferguson und RB Prince sind vermutlich das Maximum, was man dort so ergattern kann....

Die Pirates sind insgesamt mit viel Potential ausgestattet, aber irgendwie kommen sie auch etwas wackelig daher. Die QBs könnten ein Fall für's Lazarett werden, die RBs haben ein paar Fragezeichen, die WR hinken bei der Qualität den Gehältern hinterher - aber ein Mann kann da Vieles wieder wett machen : TE Kelce. Wäre da nur nicht das überdehnte Kniechen......
Die LB sind solide, die DL hat durch die jungen Spieler Upside, die S sind sehr talentiert und die CB klingen auch nicht völlig verkehrt. Es ist aber gut für unseren Julius, dass noch ein paar Goldmünzen im Ledersäckchen klimpern (160 $), es wird sicherlich noch nachjustiert werden müssen.

Your receivers are the strongest part of this team and you look good at tight end as well. While no team can be expected to be above average at all three core positions (QB/RB/WR), you are in the precarious position of being a bit weak at two of them.

Although you should not be counted out yet, you may need to be active on both the waiver wire and in trades to turn this team into a legitimate contender. The best way to achieve that might be to sacrifice some of your wide receiver strength to gain multiple players that can help your roster now. It's generally easier finding quarterbacks and wide receivers on the waiver wire than quality running backs.

Keep an eye out for quarterbacks like Jared Goff from last year or Derek Carr in 2021.Both were available cheap in August, and all contributed to fantasy championship teams. Likewise, running backs like Jamaal Williams could be had dirt cheap at the draft or shortly after. You are likely going to need to land some of this year's top waiver plays, so pay close attention to increased workloads, targets, injuries, etc.

Players we particularly like on this team include Marquise Brown and Dexter Lawrence II. We have both these guys ranked ahead of where they're typically being drafted.

With great inseason management, we think you have about a 75 percent chance of making the playoffs. 

We like DeVonta Smith as a 1st WR, but we consider your starting Wide Receivers, as a group, to be a little below par. Smith is our 15th ranked WR, Marquise Brown is #28, and we have Diontae Johnson 29th.

Jordan Addison should serve as a very solid 4th Wide Receiver; he's a likely flex starter. Darnell Mooney, on the other hand, is an average-at-best 5th WR. Josh Downs is a little below average as a 6th Wide Receiver. Rashee Rice also looks somewhat weak as a 7th WR. We see Deonte Harty as an average 8th Wide Receiver. Braxton Berrios is an excellent WR9. We see Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as an average 10th Wide Receiver. Justyn Ross is shaky as a 11th Wide Receiver.

Obviously, Travis Kelce is a great way to anchor any TE group. We've got him ranked #1 at the position, and by our reckoning he gives you about a 6.09 point advantage over an average team in the first TE slot.

Jake Ferguson is a little below average as a 2nd Tight End; he's a likely flex starter. We do, however, think David Njoku makes a terrific 3rd Tight End --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. We love Isaiah Likely as a 4th Tight End. Noah Gray is also a very nice TE5. We love Jelani Woods as a 6th Tight End. Likewise, Daniel Bellinger should be excellent at TE7.

Your starting Linebacker group is a strength, particularly Matt Milano as a 1st Linebacker. We figure them at a combined 2.31 points per game better than an average opponent in this league. Milano is our #18 ranked Linebacker, and we have Ernest Jones at #19.

T.J. Edwards should serve as a very solid 3rd Linebacker; he's a likely flex starter. Divine Deablo will also be among the best LB4s in the league --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. We love Kyzir White as a 5th Linebacker (another likely flex starter). Likewise, Isaiah Simmons should be excellent at LB6. We love Jerome Baker as a 7th Linebacker. Likewise, Cody Barton should be excellent at LB8.


Als letztes in diesem Segment widmen wir uns - wenn man den FBG glauben darf - einem weiteren Favoriten, den Maitai Bay Maroons.

Die Crew von Coach Fred hat weiterhin alle Zutaten, um ganz vorne mitzusegeln. Leider zieht sich die Krankheit der letzten Saison auch dieses Jahr schon wieder durch. Die teuren Topstars fallen aus (Taylor, Kupp), schon bevor überhaupt das erste Tau gekappt wurde....und so muss die hohe Einschätzung der Experten doch mit etwas Vorsicht betrachtet werden.
Coach Fred war im Anheuern neuer Gefährten recht zurückhaltend, eine Bürde des Vorjahres. Immerhin hat man mit etwas Verzögerung die Talente Mims und RB Tucker verpflichtet - auf der Resterampe war man mit Purdy, Warren und Paulson dann einigermaßen erfolgreich.
Die Maroons sind danach frisch herausgeputzt zur Auction aufgebrochen, aber die großen Pläne konnten nicht umgesetzt werden. Auf LB hat man zwar Kendricks anheuern können, allerdings etwas zu teuer - Rozeboom und Roberts sind dann schon Kategorie 'das Beste hoffen'. Die Offense musste fast komplett vernachlässigt werden, Foreman wurde zur Unterschrift gezwungen, nicht gerade der Wunschkandidat.
Tja, wenn die Truppe gesund bleibt (werden würde....), dann ist das Gerüst mit Herbert - Taylor / A.Jones - Chase / Kupp / Hopkins / Sutton / Lockett - TJ Hock und Pitts sehr gut dabei....aber der dünne Kader lässt nicht viele Ausfälle zu. Gleiches bei den IDP, wo man 2-3 gute Jungs hat, aber der Rest bestenfalls als 'Füllmaterial' angepriesen werden kann.
Die Schatzkammer ist immerhin gut bestückt, aber Vieles davon auch schon verplant an der Maitai Bay.....so trügt der Schein etwas....

We have Justin Herbert rated #6 among quarterbacks. This makes him a viable starter if not an exciting one.

But we like the pick of our #10-rated QB, Kirk Cousins, to go with him. Hopefully between the two of them, you should be able to cobble together some good production at the position, but this strategy always carries with it the downside that you'll drive yourself crazy trying to decide who to start from week to week.

Incidentally, these two have a terrific combined schedule and a nice playoff schedule too.

We have Aaron Jones ranked #12 at the position. So while he's passable as a first Running Back, he doesn't look particularly thrilling.

Jonathan Taylor is a little below average as a 2nd Running Back; he's a likely flex starter. Raheem Mostert also figures to be a bit iffy as a 3rd RB. Jaylen Warren should serve as a very solid 4th Running Back. Elijah Mitchell is also a very nice RB5. Sean Tucker should serve as a very solid 6th Running Back. D'Onta Foreman will also be among the best RB7s in the league.

Your starting Wide Receiver group is a strength, particularly Ja'Marr Chase as a 1st Wide Receiver. We figure them at a combined 7.14 points per game better than an average opponent in this league. Chase is our 2nd ranked WR, Cooper Kupp is #10, and we have Tyler Lockett 20th.

Courtland Sutton should serve as a very solid 4th Wide Receiver; he's a likely flex starter. DeAndre Hopkins is also a very nice WR5.

Your starting Linebacker group is a strength, particularly Devin White as a 1st Linebacker. We figure them at a combined 1.84 points per game better than an average opponent in this league. White is our 5th ranked LB, and we have Shaquille Leonard at #6.

We love Eric Kendricks as a 3rd Linebacker; he's a likely flex starter. Elandon Roberts, on the other hand, is an average-at-best 4th LB

Wir widmen uns nun den "Ruhr River Red Rackhams". Bis auf die Entlassung vom überteuerten Dak Prescott ist die Offseason von Rackhams Mannen als recht ruhig zu bezeichnen. Wobei, da war ja noch der Trade für DJ Metcalf, den man den Wasser Wandalen abschwatzen konnte. Danach fehlte es in der Recruitementabteilung an Feuerkraft, und so musste Käpt'n Shaq den einen oder anderen Jungpiraten aus dem Hut zaubern. Was da erreicht wurde, sieht - betrachtet man den Zeitpunkt der Picks - garnicht so übel aus.... es konnte noch ein paar Offense-Spieler an Land gezogen werden, und das Händchen im Ruhrpott für die verteidigende Gilde ist ja schon weithin bekannt. Wer im Laufe der Saison den plötzlich startenden Rookie-IDP auf dem Waiver sucht, der sollte vorher mal bei den Ruhr-Piraten nachschauen....

Wer Mahomes im Team hat, der braucht sich nicht zu Sorgen. Der macht aus weniger bekannten Spielern auch mal gerne Stars. Notwendig wird es sein, denn von Waddle, eben jenem Metcalf und vielleicht auch noch Pacheco abgesehen, sind für's Entern keine Spieler der oberen Kategorie an Board. Aber die Verteidigung hat es in sich. Die LB schwächeln etwas, aber der Rest kann sich sehen lassen - alleine schon der Klang von Bosa, Donald, M.Garret oder Derwin James lässt einem das Herz erstarren. RRRR ist irgendwie sowas wie das Anti-Team, weit weg davon, einem üblicherweise empfohlenen Fantasy-Pfad zu folgen... Sind große Siege ohne starke RBs und LB möglich ?

This team is built around strong quarterback play.

But it has some serious issues post-draft. Your only real core strength is at quarterback, yet that's often the easiest position to fill during the season. Your weaknesses at both running back and receiver put you in a hole before any games have played. To end up with a team constructed like this, you probably did not get value on some of your picks. The players themselves are not necessarily bad --- you just might have paid more than what they were worth.

To make this team into a serious contender, you are going to need to be extremely active in trades and on the waiver wire. You essentially need to turn over significant parts of this roster.

Players we particularly like on this team include Isiah Pacheco, DK Metcalf, Hayden Hurst, Jakobi Meyers, K.J. Osborn, Brian Robinson Jr., and Donovan Peoples-Jones. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they're typically being drafted.

With great inseason management, we think you have about a 65 percent chance of making the playoffs.

You don't need us to tell you this, but we'll tell you anyway: Patrick Mahomes should ensure that your production at the quarterback position is among the best in the league. We have him as the #3 QB according to your scoring rules, and we figure he gives you about a 2.74 point-per-game advantage over an average starting QB.

Our projections don't show Kenny Pickett as being a top-notch backup, but the issue will be moot as long as Patrick Mahomes stays healthy.
Incidentally, Pickett has what we project as a bad matchup during Mahomes's bye.

A quick note about the same-team Mahomes/Isiah Pacheco duo you've got here. Though the effect is probably negligible, this kind of pairing is likely to make your team more (not less) consistent than a comparable-scoring different-team pair.

We have Isiah Pacheco ranked #23 at the position, so we don't even necessarily see him as being RB 1 worthy in this league. And we also have some doubts about whether your depth at Running Back is going to make up for it, so we feel this is an area of concern.

We like Jaylen Waddle as a 1st WR, but we consider your starting Wide Receivers, as a group, to be a little below par. Waddle is our #11 ranked Wide Receiver, DK Metcalf is #14, and we have Michael Pittman Jr. 34th.

We don't particulary like Donovan Peoples-Jones as a 4th Wide Receiver; he's a likely flex starter. We do, however, think Jakobi Meyers makes a terrific 5th Wide Receiver --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. K.J. Osborn looks great as a 6th Wide Receiver (another likely flex starter). We also see Isaiah Hodgins as an above average WR7. Puka Nacua should serve as a very solid 8th Wide Receiver.

Nice work here. We like all your starting Defensive Ends and Defensive Tackles.

Aaron Donald should be a good 1st Defensive End and Defensive Tackle; he's a likely flex starter. Likewise, Jaelan Phillips should be excellent at DE/DT2 --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. Myles Garrett looks great as a 3rd Defensive End and Defensive Tackle (another likely flex starter). Likewise, Nick Bosa should be excellent at DE/DT4; he'll contribute as a flex as well. Tough to do better than Harrison Phillips at DE/DT5. Darrell Taylor will also be among the best DE/DT6s in the league. We love Byron Young as a 7th Defensive End and Defensive Tackle.

Mit Thielen und LB K.White hat Bonny Anne 2 brauchbare Spieler in der Urlaubszeit verloren. Im Fischen um die heranwachsenden Nachwuchspiraten konnte man diese Ausfälle zwar teilweise kompensieren (LB Campbell), aber die ergatterten Kandidaten tragen oftmals einen leichten "Reach - Geschmack" mit sich herum. Auch in der Talentschmide wurde man nicht so richtig fündig, mit S Bates, LB Murray und Returner (?) Milne hat man vielleicht etwas Power verschenkt bei den schwarzen Schurken. Da auch die Versteigerung relativ zurückhaltend verlief, sticht als einzige Transaktion die Verpflichtung von RB Josh Jacobs heraus. Bei dieser hatte man am Ende mehr Glück als Verstand (der teure Einkauf hätte locker zum finanziellen Disaster werden können), aber das braucht es halt auch mal .

Trotz aller Nörgelei über die durchwachsene Sommerpause....Bonny Anne steht nicht so schlecht da, wenn man sich die komplette Truppe einmal im Überblick anschaut. Mit Allen hat man einen der besten QBs, Ekeler / Jacobs / Etienne und Pierce sind wahrscheinlich das beste 4er-Pack an Ballträgern, bei den WR sind einige junge Matrosen mit Potential (Mike Williams als WR 1 allerdings etwas mickgrig) und auch die Defense hat einige interessante Namen, wenn es auch fast überall etwas in der Breite fehlt.

Our projections don't show Ryan Tannehill as being a top-notch backup, but the issue will be moot as long as Josh Allen stays healthy.

Obviously, Austin Ekeler is a great way to anchor any RB group. We've got him ranked #2 at the position, and by our reckoning he gives you about a 1.86 point advantage over an average team in the first RB slot.

Tough to do better than Josh Jacobs at RB2; he's a likely flex starter. Likewise, Dameon Pierce should be excellent at RB3 --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. Travis Etienne Jr. looks great as a 4th Running Back. Likewise, Damien Harris should be excellent at RB5. Tough to do better than Devin Singletary at RB6. Isaiah Spiller should be adequate at RB7.

We like Mike Williams as a 1st WR, but we consider your starting Wide Receivers, as a group, to be a little below par. Williams is our 26th ranked WR, Gabe Davis is #40, and we have Nico Collins 51st.

Romeo Doubs is a very weak 4th Wide Receiver. DJ Chark Jr. is also a liability at 5th Wide Receiver. Parris Campbell is a very weak 6th Wide Receiver.

Und wenn wir schon am Nörgeln sind, dann nehmen wir uns doch einmal die W-City Water Rats zur Brust .
Zunächst einmal muss man den waghalsigen Angriff auf Cooper Kupp erwähnen - damals eine Aktion, die gänzlich dem 3. Fass Rum zugeschrieben werden musste...aus heutiger Sicht dürfte Käpt'n Konti vielleicht schon wieder froh sein, dass sein edler Widersacher die Attacke gekonnt pariert hatte. Das Misslingen dieser Aktion könnte sich vielleicht als bester Move der Offseadon für die Wasserratten heraus stellen.
Aber es gibt da noch die eine Verpflichtung, die den Weg in eine goldene Zukunft weisen könnte : in aller Früh sicherte sich W-City die Dienste von Bijan Robinson. Alle Hoffnungen ruhen auf dem flinken Allrounder, auch wenn mit TE Mayer und RB Johnson noch 2 weitere hoch gehandelte Jungmatrosen an Deck geholt wurden. Die Verstärkungen in der Defense waren weniger klangvoll... und die Verpflichtung von WR Parker im Hinterzimmer entspricht einer Verzweiflungstat.

In der Auktion hatte unser Konti die Dukaten recht locker sitzen. Eine Vielzahl von Veterans wurde ersteigert, einige davon zählen schon zum alten Eisen (Rodgers, Woods, Garoppolo, Marvin Jones, Kirksey) und müssen zeigen, dass sie noch in der Lage sind, einer jungen Truppe gute Dienste zu erweisen.
Die Water Rats fühlen sich insgesamt nach einer Crew im Umbruch an - die nächste Aufgabe dürfte das Finden eines jungen und fähigen QBs sein....

Leider nörgeln auch die FBG, und vergeben ein "D+"

Im letzten Teil der Saisonvorschau werfen wir einen Blick auf die Crew "Under the Jolly Roger".
In der Offseason gab es einen Wechsel am Steuer des Teams, auf den verschollenen tfritz folgte NewWalt - und in der Tat, alles Neu machte der Walt....

Das Team wurde fast völlig umgekrempelt, der neue Besen kehrte gut, bis in die Ecken, sogar Kicker und Punter wurden an dankbare Abnehmer verscherbelt. Von Board geschickt wurden zudem DE Thibodeaux, WR W.Robinson&Austin, LB Muma, eine ganze Horde Safeties (Cross, Cook, May) und kurz vor Schluss dann auch noch der etwas überbezahlte TE Knox. Unfreiwillig musste man sich von RB Sanders trennen, der wohl lieber in einer Spelunke verweilte, als rechtzetig seine 7 Sachen an Board zu schaffen...

Auf der Haben Seite kann die Mannschaft durch weitere Tauschgeschäfte mit der Konkurrenz Akers, TE Schultz, S Baker und Simmons, MVS und DT Armstead unter der Flagge begrüßen.

Der Versuch, WR Adams mit einer unsittlichen Offerte an Deck zu schaffen, misslang dem neuen Käpt'n dann allerdings und so musste sich Jolly's Truppe vorerst mit den Jünglingen zufrieden geben - allen voran CJ Stroud, der auf lange Sicht das Ruder übernehmen soll. Die Offense bekam mit den WR Reed&Wilson, RB Bigsby und TE Washington weiteren Zuwachs. Bei der Defense griff man eher ins 2. oder gar 3. Regal....
Dies wurde später in der Talentschmiede korrigiert, wo man gleich 3 Verteidiger handverlesen auswählte (LB Rice, S Reid, DE Hoecht).

In der Auction öffnete Walt dann nochmals den Dukatenbeutel und nahm QB Prescott, WR Schuster-Schuster-Smith und Zay Jones direkt vom Markt in die Kombüse mit. In Anbetracht dessen, was ursprünglich alles zur Schau stand, hier dann sicherlich erste Wahl genehmigt vom neuen Käpitän.

Die Männer, die unter der Jolly Roger in See stechen, sind eigentlich durchweg gut besetzt - man verfügt über 3 (meist) junge und vielversprechende QBs (nette Kombi....), die RBs sind tief aber etwas grün, die WR hinken vielleicht leicht hinterher, auf TE ist man gut besetzt. Die Verteidiger sind ebenfalls sehr solide, garniert mit ein paar Stars (Oluokun, L.David, Baker). Auf DL fehlt ein wenig die Qualität, auf CB und S steckt viel Geld, was man dann aber auch sieht....

Die Finanzlage war von Beginn an nicht rosig, und auch jetzt segelt man eher auf Sparflamme durch die Karibik. Das Team ist allerdings auch schon recht breit aufgestellt, und man kann Walt am Ende bescheinigen, dass er mit der Ausgangslage noch recht viel erreicht hat - auch wenn aus Sicht des Schreiberlings die eine oder andere Verpflichtung weniger auch gut getan hätte

Hopefully between the two of them, you should be able to cobble together some good production at the position, but this strategy always carries with it the downside that you'll drive yourself crazy trying to decide who to start from week to week.

Incidentally, these two have a terrific combined schedule and a nice playoff schedule too. Simply played the one with the better matchup each week.

We have Rhamondre Stevenson ranked #10 at the position. So while he's passable as a first Running Back, he doesn't look particularly thrilling. But we do like your depth at RB, so we're not concerned about it.

Cam Akers should serve as a very solid 2nd Running Back; he's a likely flex starter. Likewise, James Cook should be excellent at RB3.
We like Tee Higgins as a 1st WR, but we consider your starting Wide Receivers, as a group, to be a little below par. Higgins is our 13th ranked WR, Amari Cooper is #18, and we have JuJu Smith-Schuster 41st.

Your starting Linebacker group is a strength, particularly Foyesade Oluokun as a 1st Linebacker. We figure them at a combined 1.78 points per game better than an average opponent in this league. Oluokun is our #1 ranked Linebacker, and we have De'Vondre Campbell at #8.

Lavonte David should serve as a very solid 3rd Linebacker; he's a likely flex starter. Leighton Vander Esch, on the other hand, is an average-at-best 4th LB

Your starting Safety group is a strength, particularly Budda Baker as a 1st Safety. We figure them at a combined 1.19 points per game better than an average opponent in this league. Baker is our 6th ranked S, Kyle Dugger is #10, and we have Justin Simmons 10th.

"Francis Drakes Revenge" is next
Der stählerne Sven hatte in der Offseason den Verlust von Aaron Rodgers und Tremaine Edmonds zu verkraften. Dafür lies sich RB Henry breit schlagen, für ein weiteres Jahr das Deck bei Francis Drake zu schrubben und auch Pollard wollte sich die nächtlichen Würfelspiele mit seinem RB-Kumpel nicht nehmen lassen und verlängerte seinen Kontrakt. Akers hingegen bekam Sven's Rache zu spüren und wurde in den Wind geschickt....

Jungspunde zog man nur sehr wenige an Land - LaPorta, Spears, Vaughn - das war's...trotzdem vielversprechende Verstärkungen.
Käptn Sven war danach dann so im Ersteigerungswahn, dass er gleich 11 Spieler höchstbietend ergatterte, besonders zu erwähnen seien dabei das tränenreiche Wiedersehen mit LB Edmonds (lies man sich einiges Kosten....) und die Verpflichtung eines der wenigen verbliebenen WR : Lazard.
Beim QB-Scouting müsste Francis Drake nochmal in die Piratenschule, was da so in den letzten Jahres alles verpflichtet und entlassen wurde, erinnert gelegentlich an Kraut und Rüben....

Wie üblich hatte Käptn Sven auch dieses Jahr die Spendierhosen an und hat mehr oder weniger alle Rücklagen verpulvert, für die Rente wird hier nichts mehr vergraben.... Der Kader scheint etwas überteuert im Vergleich zur vorhandenen Qualität, aber trotzdem kann man den Rächern attestieren, dass eine positive Wandlung im Kader zu erkennen ist.
Bei den QBs wird voll auf Goff gebaut, danach wird es dünn - immerhin sind die Ersatzleute allesamt günstig. Auf RB hat man 2 gute Starter und etwas Tiefe, die WR werden angeführt von Aiyuk, Kirk und Ridley - bei den TEs ruht die Hoffnung auf Kmet und dem jungen LaPorta.
Sein Tafelsilber hat Svennie erneut in der Defense stecken. Die DL könnte die beste der Liga sein (Watt, Bosa, Hunter, C.Jordan), die LB sind mit Franklin und eben Edmonds auch gut dabei, S und CB dürften Ligaprimus sein (zumindest von den klangvollen Namen her), sind aber auch entsprechend teuer.
Es ist nicht undenkbar, dass die Verteidiger die Lücken in der Offense wieder wett machen....

We love Derrick Henry as a 2nd Running Back; he's a likely flex starter. But we are not at all excited about Kenneth Gainwell as a 3rd RB. We see Jamaal Williams as an average 4th Running Back. Tyjae Spears is an excellent RB5.

We like Calvin Ridley as a 1st WR, but we consider your starting Wide Receivers, as a group, to be a little below par. Ridley is our 16th ranked WR, Christian Kirk is #24, and we have Brandon Aiyuk 25th.

Van Jefferson is a little below average as a 4th Wide Receiver; he's a likely flex starter. We do, however, think Allen Lazard makes a terrific 5th Wide Receiver

Your starting Linebackers should, as a unit, be adequate but not great. In particular we like Zaire Franklin as a 1st LB. Franklin is our #9 ranked Linebacker, and we have Tremaine Edmunds at #25. Nice work here. We like all your starting Defensive Ends and Defensive Tackles, as our projections indicate that they give you a combined 1.18 point-per-game advantage over an average opponent in this league.

We see Jeffery Simmons as an average 1st Defensive End and Defensive Tackle; he's a likely flex starter. Danielle Hunter is practically criminal at DE/DT2 --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. We love T.J. Watt as a 3rd Defensive End and Defensive Tackle (another likely flex starter). Likewise, Uchenna Nwosu should be excellent at DE/DT4. Joey Bosa looks great as a 5th Defensive End and Defensive Tackle. Kwity Paye is also a very nice DE/DT6. Cameron Jordan looks great as a 7th Defensive End and Defensive Tackle. Likewise, Boye Mafe should be excellent at DE/DT8. Tough to do better than Logan Hall at DE/DT9.

Last but not least : wops wasser-wandalen.
Die Wandalen hatten keinen guten Start in die Offseason - RB J. Williams und LB TJ Edwards wurden eingekerkert. Crazy, dass RB Swift nicht in die Hände des Gesetzes fiel, Mariota sei dank - die Verpflichtung hat sich gelohnt

Mit seinem neuen Buddy Walt wurden alsgleich ein paar Deals eingefädelt - der größte Trade wurde dann aber mit RRRR durchgezogen : DJ Metcalf verlies überraschend die Wasserwüter und wechselte an die Ruhr. Mit dem ergatterten frühen Pick holte sich wop Bryce Young, um sich nur kurze Zeit später nochmals nach vorne zu drängeln, um WR Q.Johnson an Deck zu holen. LB Sanders und WR Dell sind weitere nette Ergänzungen, die sich mit den in der Talentschmiede verpflichteten IDPs (Al-Shaair, Granderson, CB Wilson) um die besten Hängematten unter Deck streiten werden.

Die Auktion ist nicht so Sache von Käpt'n wop....es wird zwar viel versucht, aber mangels Gold in der Tasche muss immer wieder auf's neue gehofft werden, dass einer der Kandidaten durchrutscht. Nebst zahlreichen erfolglosen Unternehmungen konnten am Ende aber doch noch eine handvoll guter Deals ausgehandelt werden - Perine, ein Kicker und 3 DBs fanden den Weg zu den Wandalen. Wop war darüber so glücklich, dass er allen Neuankömmlingen gleich richtig lange Verträge verpasste. "Knäbel-" würde manch einer vielleicht noch ergänzen wollen....
Aber gut, sagen wir's, wie's ist - dem wop bleibt auch nichts anderes übrig, schließlich ist er mehr oder weniger Pleite und so dazu gezwungen, günstig einzukaufen. "Geld auf der hohen Kante macht keine Punkte" habe ich mal jemanden sagen hören....

Trotz aller Finanznot, die Crew von paelzer ist gut aufgestellt - man hat einen Franchise-QB (Hurts), einen Ersatz, der es werden möchte (Young), 2 gute RBs (Harris&Swift) und TEs (Waller, Freiermuth) und vor allem überragende und dazu noch junge WR : Die Rookie-Gang (G.Wilson, Olave, D.London) hat sich größtenteils wie erhofft entwickelt und wird von K.Allen & Bateman unterstützt.
In der Defense könnte man vom Switch von Parsons profiteren, aber natürlich reißt er nun ein Loch auf LB, wo es nun deutlich dünner aussieht. Wop legt viel Wert auf gute DBs, und so ist er auf beiden Posis gut und tief bestückt.
Die Crew kann aus meiner Sicht an der Spitze mitsegeln, und braucht sich vor den anderen Favoriten nicht zu verstecken....

We like Azeez Al-Shaair as a 1st LB, but we consider your starting Linebackers, as a group, to be a little below par. Al-Shaair is our #16 ranked Linebacker, and we have Patrick Queen at #23.

Anthony Walker Jr. is a very weak 3rd Linebacker; he's a likely flex starter. Drew Sanders also looks somewhat weak as a 4th LB.

Nice work here. We like all your starting Defensive Ends and Defensive Tackles.

Grover Stewart should serve as a very solid 1st Defensive End and Defensive Tackle; he's a likely flex starter. Harold Landry III is also a very nice DE/DT2 --- also probably a frequent flex contributor. Tough to do better than Micah Parsons at DE/DT3 (another likely flex starter). Travon Walker is also a very nice DE/DT4. Tough to do better than Carl Granderson at DE/DT5.
