    Standard [NSFF] Playoffs 2017

Round 1 is in the books and for the most part the games went as expected.

In the Championship Playoff bracket was relatively predictable with 3 of the 4 top seeds moving on with wins. The #1 Gehrden Warriors won comfortably against the #8 Marburg Crusaders. The #2 Berlin Bashers suffered a surprising comeback loss to the #7 Wiener Schnitzels, a game that came down to the wire with the deciding points coming in the Monday night game. In a game where both teams received 0 points from their starting TEs, the #3 Berlin Cowboys had a comfortable win over the #6 Berlin 49ers thanks primarily to their dominant RB duo. Meanwhile the #4 Berlin Ruthless were able to eek out a victory against the #5 Stockerau Bulldogs, thanks in no small part to some untimely injuries to key contributors for the Bulldogs in the Thursday night game.

In the next round, the Warriors hope to extend their winning streak to 6 games and flex their point scoring muscle (1st overall points scored) against the Schnitzels, who are hoping to upset the bracket once again by taking down a higher seeded opponent. The two teams faced eachother in week 10 of the regular season, with the Warriors winning by a comfortable margin, 134.5 to 111.4.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys will try to duplicate their week 6 dominance of the Ruthless, in which they pulled out a 120.7 to 86.4 victory. Both teams come into the game on a 2 game winning streak.

The Bashers will face the Bulldogs as both teams look to end the season on a high note. The winner will take home the 1.07 rookie pick.
Likewise, the 49ers will face the Crusaders for the chance to take home the 1.05 rookie pick.

In the Rookie Draft Playoff bracket the #9 Marburg Gamblers won without a doubt against the #10 Red Mambas Hannover, earning a spot in the final game which will determine who takes home the 1.01 rookie pick. Their opponent will be the #12 Senefelder Spatzen who squeezed past the #11 Berlin TDnators with the smallest of margins (1.2 points). With their losses the Mambas TDnators will face eachother for the 1.03 rookie pick.

The results and upcoming schedule for both playoff brackets are as follows:

    Round 1
    Championship Playoff:
    P1: #1 GWS vs. #8 MRC (136 - 112.9)
    P2: #2 BEB vs. #7 WIE (116.1 - 119.9)
    P3: #3 BCB vs. #6 B49 (124.2 - 108.3)
    P4: #4 BER vs. #5 STB (122.4 - 119.3)

    Rookie Draft Playoff:
    D1: #9 MGS vs. #10 RED (154.5 - 93.4)
    D2: #11 BTD vs. #12 SEN (115.5 - 116.7)

    Round 2
    Championship Playoff:
    P5: #1 GWS vs. #7 WIE
    P6: #3 BCB vs. #4 BER

    Rookie Draft Playoff:
    D3: #9 MGS vs. #12 SEN (1.01 rookie pick)
    D4: #10 RED vs. #11 BTD (1.03 rookie pick)

    Standard [NSFF] Playoffs 2017

Round 2 is complete and we're now down to the final matchups of the season.

The first game of the Championship playoffs pitted the #1 Gehrden Warriors against the #7 Wiener Schnitzels. Led by a big game from Kareem Hunt (32.6 pts) the Warriors cemented their spot in the finals with a comfortable win. The Schnitzels are relegated to the third place game, hoping to end their season on a high note facing off against the loser of the second semi-final matchup.

The second matchup saw the #3 Berlin Cowboys take on the #4 Berlin Ruthless. This matchup was never really close as the Cowboys dominated from the start powered by an impressive 45 point game from Todd Gurley. Meanwhile the Ruthless found the worst possible time for injuries and poor performances to occur as Austin Ekeler produced -0.1 points and Marquise Lee was injured early on and produced 0 points. The end result was thus no surprise as the Cowboys took home the final spot in the championship game by a big margin. The Ruthless will attempt to regroup in time for the third place game.

Congratulations to the Gehrden Warriors and Berlin Cowboys for a successful season, and good luck in the championship matchup! The winner of this matchup will become the first owner in NSFF history to win three championships.

The Berlin Ruthless and Wiener Schnitzels will face off in the final consolation game of the year fighting for third place and the 1.09 rookie pick.

Meanwhile, in the Rookie Draft Playoff, the #12 Senefelder Spatzen beat the #9 Marburg Gamblers to take home the first pick of the 2018 rookie draft. The #10 Red Mambas Hannover won big against the #11 Berlin TDnators and claimed the third pick of the rookie draft. The #8 Marburg Crusaders took home the fifth pick of the rookie draft with a win over the #4 Berlin 49ers. The #2 Berlin Bashers wrapped up the final game of the Rookie Draft Playoff with a comfortable win over the #5 Stockerau Bulldogs, taking home the seventh pick of the rookie draft.

    Standard [NSFF] Playoffs 2017

The season is complete and the results are as follows:

    Championship Game:
    #1 GWS vs. #5 BCB (116.8 - 149.2)

    Third Place Game:
    #4 BER vs. #7 WIE (1.09 rookie pick) (67.4 - 105.3)

Congratulations to Rene (Berlin Cowboys) on winning his third NSFF Championship!

The final round was free of suspense, with the Berlin Cowboys and Wiener Schnitzels both winning by a comfortable margin. The #5 Cowboys put on a strong performance powered almost entirely by Todd Gurley and Blake Bortles, the latter of whom was a timely waiver wire acquisition during the playoffs. The lead was insurmountable for the #1 Gehrden Warriors and brought an end to the 6 game winning streak and gave the championship to the Cowboys. The Warriors suffered only their third loss of the season at the most inopportune time, ending a solid season in 2nd place with a final record of 13-3. The #7 seeded Schnitzels won comfortably but not behind a dominant performance like the championship matchup, but rather behind matchup luck as the #4 Berlin Ruthless turned in the second lowest score of the season and lowest since week 8. With the vitory the Schnitzels claimed the 1.09 rookie pick, while the Ruthless once again take home 4th place in the league and the 1.10 rookie pick.
